Piter Pasma (b. 1980) is a generative artist based in Groningen, the Netherlands, inspired by the power of math and code. He is known for creating three- dimensional photorealistic and non-photorealistic generative artworks with mathematical functions, using as few characters of code as possible.

Inspired by line art, cartoons and plotters, the images in this series are drawn using a single line, connecting the physical and digital. You can redraw a pixel many times over but draw a physical line only once. The alien appearance of these organic shapes is the result of mathematical formulae based on the inflated surface intersection lines of spheres and toruses. By fine-tuning virtual “black boxes,” Pasma conjures unexpected environments that emerge from simple code, showcasing his unique ability to surprise and engage audiences. Pasma enjoys fostering creativity and forming connections between diverse generative art communities, encouraging others to create by organising Genuary, an annual event where artists create daily pieces based on 31 carefully selected prompts.
